Blog #2 Mellifluous (Definition & Narration)

There are millions of words in the english language and it's advisable to be imaginative because it is the key to enjoying memorization hundreds of words. One of the newest words I learned was "mellifluous". Mellifluous (of a voice or words) is sweet or musical and pleasant to hear. Mellifluous is usually used to describe voices, pieces of music, and other sounds that made a listener soothing and enjoyable to listen to. The examples on how to use mellifluous in a sentence are; "After the judge gave Samantha a standing ovation, he described her voice as mellifluous". And "Without practice, Fiona will never be able to make mellifluous music with her instrument." In using mellifluous in a sentence you should consider the soft, almost fluid sound of a music, that gently envelope the listener to create a wholly pleasurable listening experience. The word mellifluous got introduced to me by my friend Brycshella, when I went to karaoke house with my friends. Shermaine, One of my friend sing a song of Taylor swift titled "Safe and Sound". The way she delivers the song to us is what I like, her voice was enchanting, soft and heartwarming. When she finished the song, my friend Brycshella said that Shermaine's voice was mellifluous and all of my friends agreed. Suddenly, I wondered what's the meaning of that word, then I get the idea that mellifluous is a sound that is relaxing and pleasant to hear.
